Attempting to spell cast his way out of prison, Felix Faust accidentally creates a duplicate of himself. Summonging a demon to find out how it happened, the two Fausts are told that when the spell wears off and the fake Faust disappears, the resulting explosion will also destroy the entire universe. Unable to decide which is the fake, the two Fausts magically transport themselves to the Justice League headquarters and explain their problem.The League agree for the Fausts to conjure problems for them which they have to overcome, in the hope they will discover the true Faust. While they team up and overcome their problems, both sets of Leaguers think their Faust is the real one. When Snapper Carr arrives, however, he informs the League that the genuine Faust is still in prison; the League take both fakes to the real Faust who casts a spell and makes them vanish.
