Following on from the events of the previous issue, Hawkman and the Atom fly with the deranged Jean Loring to Thanagar in the hopes of finding a cure for her mental breakdown. With them is the Thangarian villain, Norch Lor. When they arrive, however, they are confronted by Thanagarians in the grip of some madness and it is Lor who manages to send a distress signal which is received by the Guardians of the Universe.They in turn notify the League who travel to Thanagar to find Hawkman and the Atom fighting each other. Subduing them both, they enter the ship and find Jean Loring who appears sane who tells them to move the ship; when they do, the madness subsides and Norch Lor reveals that the cause of it is the Jest-Master.They discover that only Jean can defeat the Jest-Master due to her insanity - while the others are driven insane, her madness makes her lucid. With her help, they are able to defeat the Jest-Master and, at the end, find that Jean has been cured of her mental illness.
