Batman runs into an old flame, Marcia Monroe, whom he first met when he spanked her (as an adult) for walking on a high catwalk and scaring the police. (It was this spanking, and the publication of the spanking in a local paper, that made her fall in love with him, as it defined him as the only man she'd ever met whom she could look up to. I don't write them, I just summarize them.) She convinced him that her previous beau had stolen a precious cat amulet, and asked Batman to break into a museum to return it. He did, unaware that he would be caught on film doing so, and that the same artifact would be stolen again. Batman was soon arrested for the second theft. While in prison, he learned of a crime wave being orchestrated by Eclipso and the Queen Bee. Escaping prison to follow thug Gorilla Grimes, Batman located the group. He eventually managed to defeat them, despite learning that the Queen Bee was none other than Marcia herself, who managed to escape custody.
